‘Apparatus for no apparent reason’ takes the notion of absence as a motivation by creating the illusion of utility. Both extremities of the work are occupied with means hinting at being containers, one holding physical volume whilst the other auditory experiences. The seemingly missing parts aim at being replaced by conceptual frameworks, although the whole contraption is built around the sole purpose of acting as an alarm which is ultimately hindered and rendered purposeless.
